Delaware residents, especially those in Sussex County, may have noticed a rocket flying in the southern sky late Wednesday morning .
An Antares rocket built by Orbital Sciences Corp blasted off shortly before 11 from NASA’s flight facility on Wallops Island about 35 miles south of the Delaware border. The spacecraft is on a four-day journey to the International Space Station carrying about 13 hundred pounds of cargo, including food and clothing to the 37 crew members aboard the space station.
This is the first time a spaceship has been launched to the orbiting laboratory from Virginia.
