Wesley College president committed to growing presence in Dover

Wesley College is strengthening its focus in the Dover area.

The school has announced plans that include providing more classes at Dover Air Force Base and opening a new Health Sciences Building near Kent General Hospital.

Four years ago, College President William Johnston mapped out Wesley’s path to increasing its presence in the state capital. He says part of the plan involves closing classes held in New Castle County

“We’ve decided with today’s technology, online learning, all the different opportunities for the different types of learning that we can really touch as many students right here in the Dover area from Dover..”

Wesley’s efforts to strengthen it’s ties with the Dover community include working more closely with state and local safety officials, promoting students attendence at local events and enhancing the appearance of its campus.

The one-hundred forty-year-old institution provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs to approximately 1700 students.
